More like.. I miss my wolfpack!!
The real world is..... something else. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss the days (and oh so many nights) of being in Norton with the fam.
No one around me is ever DTGTDD! Talk about a bummer :(
But regardless of missing everyone, I have had a good time gaining experience in the real world. I am happy to say that there is in fact a light at the end of the tunnel, and having a big girl job isn't nearly as stressful as being in school (thank goodness)!
I hope everyone is having a blast with their jobs (especially Snooks in Disney!) and lot of luck with the job searches!
I love and miss you all :)

I Can't Believe it's Over..
It's hard to believe, but the entire Norton Hall Wolfpack survived senior sem and became closer than ever.
We're practically a week away from graduation and I don't want to face the facts that I'm not going to be with these girls for hours and hours on end. I knew this time was coming, but I didn't think that it would approach so quickly.
We have grown so much as a group and I can't imagine going through an Interior Design program without them. Every single one of these girls is the reason I didn't quit early on. They were all my motivation and my driving force.
We have worked so hard to get where we are today. And, from my perspective have worked longer and harder than any other senior class that has graduated in past years. We've gone out of our comfort zone and did things that we didn't think designers don't usually do (designing a roof..that was a toughie! and a site plan) and we're better for it.
Yeah, we may have not had the life of a normal college student, but we have had the time of our lives.
I hate to say this, but I know it will be true. Those late nights in norton that we have spent together laughing, crying, sleeping (napping), screaming, etc. will be missed more than anything.
I love you all!

Transform This.

We've decided that Glynn Coco's floor plan for senior sem looks like a transformer and Snookie made this beautiful work of art to share with us.
We've gotten a lot of laughs out of it and that's what counts when we are all on the brink of killing our professors because of the ridiculous requirements of our senior sem project. Since when are Interior Designers responsible for designing a roof?...or a parking lot?...last I checked that was the job of the contractor or architect, but does my opinion really matter? We gotta do it anyways so we might as well suck it up. This transformer embodies our anger and has become a new channel of stress relief. Praise G. Coco for making such a beautiful floor plan and praise Snooks for showing us a very profesh looking comparison of the two.

Since when is the impossible, possible...???
I'd like to thank a little old cartoon character named Kim Possible for putting this idea into the minds of our professors.
Sometimes I just want to scream...the impulse hits me more often than should be considered normal. Right now is one of those times. Our professors are constantly expecting us to do the impossible. For example...start designing our solution for the Millis House without the scope of the project or the programming book. HOOOOOW EXACTLY AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?...HUH? TELL ME!!! Exactly...you couldn't do it either. "Some people are so inconsiderate"- direct quote from Glozelle (that's for you Pilot).
Don't think I am ungrateful. I am grateful for plenty of things...one of those being my saviors...my best friends...mah homegirls as you might say. Hollah atcha girrrls. And thanks for staying in the lib with me last night Glynn Coco...you are a true friend!
I am NOT grateful for the gray hairs I keep finding on my head. I blame the major, the professors, and the unnecessary projects that are defined as "a little old space planning project" or something that we just have to "throw together." If that were true, HOW COME THEY TAKE US 2 MONTHS? HOW COME WE NEVER SLEEP? Is sleep and a little social life too much to ask for? I would just like a little praise or pat on the back for my work and I am sure we all feel that way. My future is looking bleak and doomed....

Aspirations

Pilot here with some sunday evening pondering. As interior design takes it's toll on our lives and dreams we often aspire to other career opportunities. We each have our back up dreams that may someday replace our worn out interior design goals. Glynn Coco has already started plans for Coco cupcakes, her very own cupcake bakery. Bianca often throws around ideas for her very fitting Fierce Fro-Yo establishment. I have recently come across my alternate career paths. First, being a footy-pajama model with Snooks (the proof is in the picture). However, tonight I have realized my potential in the disk jockey business. We would all benefit from the all said career paths in more ways than one. However our career paths are taking a severe turn in the inevitable direction of Peaches and Cream.
For now.... dare to dream big!

DTGTDD?
Our life always seems to come full circle... let me explain a little.
We go about our lives as normal, like we are not going completely insane, in hopes that we can avoid the inevitable. We attend class, occasionally make it to the gym, and eat way more than we should. Why is it that we always end up back in the same predicament? On the carpeted road to Peaches and Cream Insane Asylum. Are you DTGTPACIA (down to go to Peaches and Cream Insane Asylum)? We aren't either, but we have come to terms with the fact that it's going to happen whether we like it or not.
Uh oh!... Snooks is gettin' fiesty. I should remind her that we need to stick together on the carpeted road to PACIA.
Life is tough right now. I have hit a road block in my project and am sitting here wondering what to do next. That has happened many times to all of us...we even named it (the zoom-in, zoom-out predicament). *See below blog for explanation.
Glynn Coco is queen of cutting corners. Sometimes we just randomly feel like hugging each other and when she finds ways to cut corners, it's definately one of those times. We hug everything out... it's a wonderful feeling. Since we don't see many people in the outside world, knowing that the friends you spend all your time with actually love you...is a great feeling!
The outside world is calling, so for now, stay sane.

Packing for a small vacation...or Norton
So as I was in my apartment preparing myself to come to Norton I fell upon a realization. Packing for going to Norton is like packing for a small vacation. I leave with no less than a backpack and my purse (and when I say purse think more along the lines of "Mary Poppins Bag"). Some of the necessities for a trip to Norton include but are not limited to...
- Extra Clothing...Sweatshirt, socks, sweatpants, slippers etc. Sometimes a blanket is included
-Computer, cell phone, iPod
-Chargers for all above items-you will be there long enough for all of these items to die and recharge multiple times
-Movies to watch on your computer (usually a minimum of 5 dvds plus whatever we can find on netflix)
- Snacks and Drinks-I currently have a few bags of cheez-its, a diet coke, my big nalgene filled with water. This does not include what snacks are already stashed away in my locker, as well as the multiple breaks we'll be taking to get MORE snacks throughout the day
- And then of course our notebooks & textbooks necessary to complete our projects
On the occasion when we really go all out and are here for 38940274893 hours at a time, items such as pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, and air mattresses can be found scattered around the CAD lab as well.
Hopefully we'll be out of here before we need to go back to gather up sleeping supplies. Wish us luck with this crazy project!

Road to the Block
So, Pilot and I have been in here for hmm...two hours? Guess how much we've gotten done. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Oops?
We have redefined detailing for Webster's Dictionary.
Detailing (n.): Death.
I say that pretty much sums it up.
It's so hard when you don't know what you're doing. I've been sitting here Googling and looking at my text book hoping the information will jump into my brain. So far, it hasn't and I'm beginning to think that it never will.
I just keep getting more and more frustrated which makes me want to walk away and never come back. One problem, I kind of need to graduate so that's not really an option.
Maybe Pilot and I will magically understand what we're doing. But so far this Friday night has been worthless.
Sincerely,
Glynn CoCo

Zoom in, Zoom out...
Well... here we are again. Back to business in good ol' Norton Hall. We, as usual these days we are rather confused about out interior detailing project due next week. Our attempts to work productively are true, but road blocks are frequently landing us in the inevitable zoom-in, zoom-out rut. We have found ourselves scrolling around our CAD screens in an attempt to seem efficient when it is merely a sign of life here in the lab. Smalls is currently online searching for deals on orange jump suits for her inevitable trip to Peaches and Cream Insane Asylum. Glynn Coco is hungover from....napping? No alcohol involved, just her severe addiction to bonding with her bed. Bianca is preparing for her trip to Japan. She will be jet skiing across the Pacific Ocean at the request of Google Maps. I am simply sitting back and enjoying the show. I'm sure there will be more after hours antics to come so don't go away!!

We're Baaaack...
So it's about three weeks into school and we're already loaded with work. Typical right? The first week we legit didn't know what to do with ourselves because we had absolutely nothing to do. Now I'm sure most of us are begging to have that week back. I know I am. So far we're already three projects in...majority due at the beginning of October. Learning quite a bit so far and I'm pretty excited about it.
We've had about 1 Norton After Hours night so far...
This past weekend Snooki and myself (G.CoCo) were exiled to the other CAD lab because we were being a little too goofy. Eventually we settled down and got our work down. But, I definitely enjoyed a few serenades here and there.
Can't wait to write mooore :)

I miss Norton...?
I know right away that I am going to be denying ever said that I miss norton come the end of the month but right now I've been separated from my wolf pack for 3 whole months! I miss them and our crazy late night antics sosososososososo much! It absolutely boggles my mind that in 3 short weeks we will officially be seniors. OMG!!!!! The implications of the real world have slowly started to hit me. After working a real 9-5 job in the city this summer I've started to realize this is more or less what my life will be like next May, scare-y. Which leads me to believe that many of the wolfpack's other back up careers (cupcake shop, frozen yogurt shop, almost anything involving food really) are not such a bad idea after all. We can all run it and never have to leave each other (talk about having a hard time letting go). But since I still have a few months until I decide what I'm really doing with the rest of my life I'm super excited to get back to school and be reunited with my loves :)
Until then, I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their summer!

Hello, my name is snooki, and I am an Interior Design obsessed nerd...
As much as I complain about the amount of work
I constantly have, the lack of
sleeping, eating, showering,
and free time that exists in my life, when it comes down to it I am an Interior Design nerd through and through. While searching for a sleeper sofa for a client at work today I allowed myself to get distracted by the fabulous website in which I was searching. Typically I am not the ultra modern type but I do have an attraction to bold, geometric designs. Ligne Roset has me designing my non-existent apartment in my head with every single piece of their furniture, accessories, lighting etc. What initially caught my eye and had me talking to myself at my desk about how beautiful it was, was the Calin 2 Fireside chair. One word, AMAZING! It's the type of piece that makes ultra modern not seem so scary. I want to go curl up in that c
hair because it just like wonderfully comfortable but it still has this beautiful, bold and elegant geometric draping work that is somewhat reminiscent of an evening gown. Then I found these wonderful transparent chandelier-esq with a modern twist wall sconces. This site just keeps getting better and better. I could go on all day about all the amazing things I found but I suggest you go take a look and find out for yourself how spectacular Ligne Roset is (I know we're all always looking for a good distraction so here it is, I give you permission)

hello from the big city!
Hello everyone!
I can't believe I've already been home for a month and half, actually I can believe it because it is boring as anything at home. Most of my friends have the right idea and have a house at school where they live all summer with their friends. Since I'm stuck at home missing my wolf pack like crazy I've gotten an internship in NYC to pass by the time. Its more of a 9-5 job than an internship but you catch my drift. I'm actually working for a commercial design firm which I never thought I would do in my life. I've always wanted to do residential design and had a slight hate for all things commercial design. The codes, the constant back and forth between 50 million different people working on the project, and the lack of "fun" products. So we'll see how this experience goes. I'm going in with an open mind and if all else fails I've got a step up on Contract for next semester. Hopefully with my newly busy schedule I'll find some time to slip off to the beach and soak up some rays, I don't want to come back to school looking pale do I? Well I hope everyone else is having a fabulous summer so far and is getting as much R&R as possible before the inevitable return to Norton (ick).
P.S. I hope you guys like the new layout! If you ever want to comment on something or want us to talk about something specific e-mail us at nortonhallwolfpack@gmail.com!

Boredom Strikes
I just looked at projects from first semester sophomore year. All I can say is, whoaaaaaaaaa nelly! My, have things changed. I think I finally just realized how much I've learned. Kind of sad it hasn't hit me until now. But, I guess it had to at some point! I think we've all come a very long way since then, and we have a long way to go. You never stop learning, I just learned a great deal from the somewhat ridiculous mistakes I made on my first drafting project. Can't help but laugh though.
I can't believe that the wolfpack is going to be the oldest in Norton, (SENIORS!) besides the faculty of course. It just boggles my mind how it went by so fast. I've got lots to learn and can tell you right now that I am no where close to being ready for a big girl job in the real world. If only I could lay low for about...5 more years? Then I'll be ready. Maybe?
Hope summer is going well for every one! Mine is somewhat boring. I'm having major wolfpack withdrawal and don't know if I'll be able to last the whole summer.
Glynn CoCo
PS - I think we should keep everyone updated on our oh so exciting summer activities!
